The Great Leap Forward refers to the economic and social reform engaged in China by Mao Zedong between 1958 and 1961. The sculpture, which represents a zimmer frame to be used by several people at the same time, talks about the generation old enough to have experienced this period as well as the other radical changes which have occurred in the world since then. By slightly redesigning the well-known device, Hora questions the notions of progress, dependency, collectivity and loneliness in relation to history, ideology and economy.
